Deuninspirationification


Sometimes I get really uninspired. it's a horrible feeling realising I finally have to time do a project- and I'm in the wrong mindset. I hate watching life go by and not grasping every movement (this isn't always the best mentality, it can be a little stressful and renders me nearly allergic to not-multitasking). Anyway, for anyone else who wants to escape from that horrible place of nothingness, here is my guide to deuninspirationification!

sleep ~if you have no ideas or no motivation and it's making you feel terrible, perhaps it's best just to sleep. When you wake up, your mind will be refreshed.               

chat ~maybe you're just in the wrong headspace and a phone call to a friend will help change your mood.

finish ~is there something else you can do like plant those seeds you've been meaning to or finally getting around to hanging the new curtains. Get on with another task that's preoccupying your mind to make way for new ideas!

exercise ~going for a ride or following a youtube yoga class will help to change your train of thought 

treat ~treating yourself to a cup of your favourite tea, a new sketch pad or even a magazine might help dissolve your artist's/designer's/writers block

clean ~clearing up your workspace makes you feel happier and reduces unnecessary distraction, it also gives you something to do with your time 

Often you can't thing of your own ideas when you're inundated with other peoples Instagram feeds and blog posts. Then I think it's best to have an internet holiday for a little while- go for a walk, look at old photographs, cook something (anything to get your mind off the amazing idea suchandsuch had for soandso).

Hope you feel a bit more prepared for next time your creative spirit goes AWOL.

    1. I just felt I needed to get my ideas out of my head, that way I can come back and review them when I am uninspired <3

  2. These are such great tips! When I feel uninspired, I usually go out and breathe in some fresh air, it helps me clear my mind!
