Pyjamas and Pattern Making
I ran out of pyjamas an appropriate length for summer so I decided to make some myself. Spotlight was having a fantastic sale so I got all the materials for both pairs for about $10! Since I did everything involved in making and designing the pants, I thought I'd share some of my best tips for sewing your own.
1. Base the pattern off your own clothes. I trace around half the front and back half the back of a pair of shorts.
2. Tape the pattern together to check it fits.
3. Don't forget to add a seam allowance!
4. Reinforce the crotch- because it's both easy and awkward to get a hole there. (intact reinforce any areas that will experience a lot of strain.
5. Cut the pattern pieces on so the grain of the fabric goes in the same direction all the way round the pants.
Pattern making is one of my favourite parts of sewing, I love imagining how all of the pieces fit together. There's something really exciting about making your own clothes- then you can wear nearly anything imaginable.

Oh, your pajamas look so cute! I started to make some pajama shorts with a fox print last year, but I got lazy and never finished ♥
